Back Up and Running!

If you have been to our website lately you may have noticed that it had been hacked several times. I hope we stay up and running. I have also had some computer problems and am on my 3rd computer in 2 weeks. I hope our wave of computer troubles is over!

We should be back on track this week an the next for the spelling words.

If you have been diligently looking at the new coming classroom news were were supposed to have a social studies test today. I made the decision to postpone it one more day to do a little more review. We will be doing it tomorrow.

We have been getting some doubles in class for show and share. Please do not send a item twice unless it has changed dramatically.

We are in the midst of learning about multiplication. Please spend some time with your student on their multiplication facts. They have been given packets in class with practice and flash cards for all facts 0-10 I will remind them to begin taking these home to study.

Weekly Class News

Highlights:

We have begun learning about multiplication. We will be moving into memorizing the multiplication facts, please be quizzing your student at home helping them to learn their facts quicker. It was brought to my attention that my calendar for the spelling words was different then the student copy. I apologize for the mix up and this week we are back on track with the schedule. The students who passed the test last week will not need to take the test this week.

Keep it fun, for everyone. Keep your kids involved by asking questions about the story, and let them fill in the blanks. You can also create activities related to the stories you're reading.

· AUCTION: We already have a lot of stickers and small items. If possible pleas bring in larger items for the basket. We are also having a quilt made as well as making a crayon melting picture and wind chimes. There will be more for the third grade parents to choose from.

· AR: Please continue to encourage your students to take home and read their AR books. As Well as remember to take the test in class.

· 100 OBJECTS: Please send a bag of 100 objects with your student. This may be pennies, pom-poms, paper clips, etc. This will be used for multiplication.

· MULTIPLICATION: The students will be working on taking timed tests of one minute working their way up from multiples of 0 to multiples of 10.

We do not have a memory verse for Friday so enjoy the time off. As I had asked on the class news sheet we will be starting multiplication. Please send a container of 100 items with your student for the use of manipulatives for multiplication. I apologize for the misprint on the class news. I had double and triple checked it. My computer was having some technical difficulties and shut down different programs before I had time to save my draft. I thought I had fixed everything but I must have missed the trip to the museum. We do not have a class trip planned this week.

Auction Basket

We have already received a basket for the auction thanks to the Doelings. There have also been small items like stickers and pads of paper donated. If you are willing please send one larger item like a stamp, punch, pens, pencils etc to fill the basket with a variety of things.
